International workers prefer fixed-term contracts

Over a third of candidates would intend to work abroad for less than five years. As a consequence, people express an overall preference for fixed-term contracts (68%) or temporary contracts over one year (47%). For jobseekers who would only want to work abroad for one year, there is a huge difference over the global average, with the former preferring the flexibility of short-term contracts.

Overall, the shorter the period of time people would like to work abroad, the more prominent a flexible or temporary contract is in their thinking, with nearly a third expressing a desire for each type of contract.
